Will you give today to help pets LIKE ME?
Hi! My name is Taro, and for now, I live at Helen Woodward Animal Center. The staff here is super nice! Everyone gives me pets and snuggles. I even have my own room with a bed and toys! Sometimes, a nice person will come hang out with me!
The kind people who look after me say the only reason they're able to take such good care of us is because of nice people like you! They say your donations pay for the food we eat, the beds we sleep on, the toys we play with, and everything else they need to make sure we're the happiest cats and dogs we can be before we find our forever homes.
Fortunately, I'm really healthy and can get started looking for my forever family right away. But some of my friends come here with super scary sounding diseases and really painful injuries. They need your help just as much as the healthy pets like me.
So I have to ask —
Will you give today to help pets like me?
Meet my friends, Bailey & Bear
Helen Woodward Animal Center is super cool! They'll take care of animals even if they have scary sounding diseases. Like, earlier this year, there were a couple of dogs named Bailey and Bear. Bailey and Bear were a pair of Australian Shepherds who were diagnosed with this disease called Puppy Strangles. Doesn't that sound scary! Both of their faces were SUPER swollen, and Dr. Siler, the vet here, said they struggled to breathe because of it! If the nice medical people at Helen Woodward didn't intervene, Bailey and Bear could have died!
But Bailey and Bear didn't die! Dr. Siler gave them this special medicine and after a few days the swelling went down and they were all better.
The only way Helen Woodward Animal Center is able to buy that medicine is because people like you are really nice and give donations.
There's still lots of animals out there who need medicine like Bailey and Bear.

This is my friend Bunny
Did you know Helen Woodward Animal Center can do really cool stuff to make sick animals better? One of the coolest was when my friend Bunny had trouble walking.
Bunny was like 12 weeks old and walking really hurt her. She'd limp around on the tables in the Doctor's office, and she would complain all the time about it! Dr. Siler took a look at her and said she had broken a part of her leg! I couldn't imagine ever breaking a bone, it sounds so painful.
Anyway, the Center was able to call in this super smart specialist guy who spent like his entire life on fixing pets' bones. He came down to perform this crazy sounding surgery on Bunny called an FHO. The vet assistants were saying that FHO's usually take a really long time, but they said Bunny's surgery only took 15 minutes!
A lot of other shelters aren't able to call in super experts like Helen Woodward Animal Center. Bunny was able to get help from the smart specialist guy because people like you are nice enough to donate to the Center.
There's a lot more animals out there who need help like Bunny,
