White was a lifelong animal advocate who supported animal welfare causes and organizations. She personally sponsored more than 30 animal health research studies, leading to numerous breakthroughs and protection for all species of animals.

She was a recipient of Helen Woodward Animal Center’s esteemed humane award, and has been a partner of the Center dating back to the 1980s… most recently she partnered with the Center in 2015 to promote senior orphan pets on the NBC special "Best in Shelter."

Betty White has been a distinguished partner of the Center for decades. Check out a clip from a documentary she did in 1989.

$17 can go a long way in supporting animals recovering from injury and on their journey to find their forever homes.

The Betty White Challenge is a fundraising campaign encouraging people to help support animal welfare organizations, and shelters, by donating in honor of the late, great actress and animal welfare activist Betty White.

The challenge is held on January 17, which would have been White's birthday.
